Everyone has favorite ingredients for recipes. Some know it, and some don’t. For those who don’t, just think about the things you like to eat and the ingredients you see when you take a bite of your favorite foods.
Some of your favorite ingredients can be used over and over to great quick dinner ideas:

These five ingredients can be used to bake chicken, combined in a beef or turkey meat loaf (add egg and cracker crumbs with meat loaf), diced into ground turkey for a turkey burger (boiled in a 1/2 inch water), season a 5 bean soup, season black eyed peas soup, or collard greens (you can mix in a few other greens too).
Before you can use these ingredients they must be diced, except for baking chicken pieces in a pan. Onions and bell peppers can be sliced and layed on top and on the bottom of the chicken, with a little water in a pan for moisture. Bake most of the chicken covered, with the with the last 10 minutes uncovered for browning.
You see, with just a few ingredients you can quickly make a variety of dishes. This is especially handy for busy single Moms and Dads, as well as busy single professionals. For added convenience, you can make enough for a few days, so you don’t have to cook every single day.

Gluten-free food pantries, gluten-free events, gluten-free grocery aisles, gluten-free books, gluten-free recipes, and gluten-free menus, all are everywhere. Americans are starting to think that in order to be healthy they have to buy gluten-free products, because of the publicity. This is not true.
First of all, gluten-free needs to be defined. The gluten-free product advertising is so prevalent, many consumers are starting to buy gluten-free products without the benefit of prior research.
Gluten is a protein which is found in wheat, barley, and rye. Because of the intense amount of gluten-free publicity, many of the current users of gluten-free products don’t even know it is simply a protein, harmless to most diets.
All the hoopla in regards to gluten started with the discovery that there are at least 3 million Americans with celiac disease. Celiac disease is the reason a patient should be consumed with purchasing gluten-free products. Celiac is an autoimmune disease, which causes terrible damage to the lining of the digestive tract. Eating food with gluten can cause many problems for celiac disease patients, including vomiting and severe abdominal pain.
If a patient is diagnosed with celiac disease, there are steps they can take to stay gluten-free. The steps are as simple as 1. Scanning the ingredients listed on packages for the word gluten–sometimes it is cleverly disguised as semolina, durum, or enriched flour. 2. Whole foods are less likely to contain gluten than processed foods. Foods that come gluten-free in their natural forms are fruits, vegetables, beans, meats, seafood, dairy products, nuts, and seeds. 3. Brown rice and quinoa can replace wheat-based products. 4. Not all gluten-free products are fat free, so be aware of fats in gluten-free foods also. 5. Because of the current gluten- intolerant awareness, there are entire sections in the grocery store labeled gluten-free, as well as restaurant menus that are gluten-free. An online check can verify if a grocery store or restaurant menu has a gluten-free section, before making a trip.
3. Cheap Easy Dinner Recipe with Smoked Turkey and Black-Eyed Peas Soup
Delicious black eyed peas soup is easy to prepare, a cheap recipe to make, and filling to the stomach.
Ingredients For Smoked Turkey and Black Eyed Peas Soup
1 small bag of black eyed peas, about 32oz
1 medium onion
4 Cloves fresh garlic or 1 T from a jar
1 teaspoon salt
2 smoked turkey legs
Prepare Smoked Turkey Legs:
First boil turkey legs in a saucepan covered with water for 1/2 hour
Remove legs from pan, place on a cutting board
Make long cuts in the skin in a few places, remove the skin
Cut small to medium slices off the turkey legs
Prepare Black Eyed Peas–This is a two day process:
Place black eyed peas in a large bowl, wash once, fill bowl with water and soak overnight. The next afternoon, remove some of the water Place black eyed peas in a medium to large pot
Cover black eyed peas with about 1/2 pot of water Finely chop onion, place it in the black eyed peas Finely chop garlic, place it in black eyed peas Place salt in black eyed peas (if health permits) Boil for about an hour.
Combine the Two:
After an hour, place smoked turkey and the turkey leg bones in black eyed peas and boil for 1/2 hour longer. Your smoked turkey soup is ready to eat, best served hot. About 6-8 servings.
4. Dinner Ideas Recipe with Simple Eggplant Lasagna
This recipe is created in two parts, and then the two parts are put together and baked for a delicious eggplant lasagna.
1 pound or medium package of ground turkey or beef
1 teaspoon natural garlic or 4 garlic cloves
1 finely chopped onion
1 teaspoon of no salt multi-herb seasonings
1 small can tomato sauce
1 small tomato diced
1 finely chopped bell pepper
1 large eggplant
Meat sauce preparation
Place the ingredients of the meat sauce together (accept the tomato sauce)in a bowl and mix well, saute in a skillet, stirring occasionally, until slightly cooked.
Place a thin layer of olive oil in skillet with medium high heat, sprinkle no-salt seasonings on oil, place a layer of eggplant in the skillet, saute until slightly brown. Turn over and saute the opposite side until slightly brown. Continue the process until all of the eggplant is cooked.
Now combine the two;
With a small pan, about 8 inch x 8inch and 2 inches deep, place a layer of eggplant in the pan. Place the meat sauce on top as a layer. Place a thin layer of tomato sauce on top
of the meat sauce, spreading the tomato sauce with the bottom of a spoon. Place another layer of eggplant and another layer of meat sauce, and then tomato sauce. Do this until the meat sauce is gone. Place a final layer of eggplant on the top layer. The pan should now be full.
Place in a pre-heated oven at 360 degrees, and bake for 15 minutes.
Serves about 4-6 people
Substitution: For vegetarians, substitute veggie burger or tofu for ground meat.
